The Whisky Castle has been selling the finest malt whiskies of Scotland from the quaint village of Tomintoul (near the distillery of the same name) for over 100 years. Tomintoul is the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland and The Whisky Castle is the highest whisky shop in the UK.  With over 500 malt whiskies with many being single cask, independently bottled and from small batches they provide a unique tasting experience from a fantastic selection. Their single malts are personally selected many being non-chill filtered – some of the most unique drams from across Scotland including limited and rare collectables. They also stock some whiskies from distilleries that have closed and also those that have been demolished and lost forever!  Your hosts Sam and Scott, along with their team Maureen, Kirstin and Lauren would be delighted to welcome you to sample some of the finest Scottish malts and gins Scotland has to offer.

Whisky Fix is a company specialising in single malt scotch whisky, located in OBAN on the West Coast of Scotland. As well as being a beautiful part of the world (not far from where Paul was born!), they are within a stones throw of Oban Distillery!

This means you can call into the shop, take a seat, relax by the fire with a dram, or simply wander around, mouth aghast at all the whisky on sale – friends of ours as you would expect!  We visit here on most of our Oban visits , we suggest you do the same, say hello to Euan and James.   Not only all of this, they are arranging a whisky fest!

Holly loves whisk(e)y. She created her own mini “master’s” program to study just a few of the greatest whisk(e)y producers in the world] and has spent a few months in Scotland to start, then Ireland, Kentucky/Tennessee, Japan and Tasmania.

Holly is a friend of ours living in the States, we have shared (and will continue to do so) whisky blogs – here are some “extracurricular” activities to get to know her better…
