Just in case you think this the Caribbean, be assured that the picture above is in the Sound Iona, Scotland.

The Spirit of Fortitude only carries 10 passengers plus  host staff.  It is a luxury 130 feet, tri deck super yacht with a gross tonnage of 199 tonnes brimming with character. The whisky lounge has been skillfully crafted to take advantage of the superior views from the upper deck and is the perfect place to relax sharing a great selection of the finest Scottish single malts and blends from the bar.

Starting in Oban, we meet you on arrival at this west coast town – the seafood capital of Scotland – day one we all share a few drams in the bar of the hotel, get to know each other, before heading for a few sleepy winks! Next morning we first visit the Oban Distillery for a private tour, before checking aboard. Leaving Oban we pass the Coryvrekkan whirlpool before arriving on Islay – the whisky isle – home to nine Scottish distilleries. We have two days and nights off Islay, we visit  four distilleries.  From Islay we pass the Ardmore Islands where you continue to sample your drams in the luxury of the whisky viewing room whilst watching the seals hide amongst this archipelago of small islands. We sail on to Jura, home of the Isle of Jura single malt whisky, with a visit of course and then on past the Garvellachs. On our way back to Oban, we pass the beautiful Shian Bay, before returning on slightly wobbly sea legs after truly sampling the spirit of the Sea. The whisky cruise is taken at a slow and leisurely pace – just like a fine whisky – these things cannot be rushed.

This fully guided whisky tour ends with a final night in an Oban hotel. The cruise is designed by MCLEANSCOTLAND and is open to small groups of ten people maximum. It is not the cost that troubles you, just deciding which whiskies and distilleries you like! By the way, the food aboard is delicious, your state room is well equipped and features television, DVD player, hair dryer, desk/vanity area, wardrobes and storage drawers. Bedside reading lamps are a feature in all state rooms, as are individual heating/air conditioning controls for your own comfort. Each cabin also has its’ own safe for private valuables and your own key to your door. You will have so much space that there is no restriction on the amount of luggage that you can bring with you for your stay. Can you enjoy fishing during the cruise? Of course and if you are successful your catch can be cooked by our chef and served for dinner.

This cruise is designed for wee groups and we take ultimate pride in our whisky tours, with your help we will design the very best whisky cruise, adding as much as you wish regarding food, whisky and visits.
