Thu 25 Oct. Our tour starts with a dram in in Inverness and directly to Glen Wyvis Distillery, Dingwall. Only opened in 2018, you will be one of the first to visit. From a green field to a working whisky distillery in just ten months – complete with rare breed sheep and cattle, alpacas, this has to be the most unusual distillery we have been to. A tour, an education and tasting hosted by Michael Fraser. From here onto BalblairDistillery to sample the delights of the Vintage Moments Tour. Taste selected Balblair Vintages chosen at the absolute peak of perfection. Then it’s a wee drive to the coastal town of Dornoch and the Eagle Hotel where you stay 4 nights bed and breakfast, en suite accommodation. Join Liz and Paul (your tour hosts) for a welcome dram at the bar! ENJOY!
Fri 6th Oct. A fantastic day out full of whisky, to Wick visiting The Old Pulteney Distillery, a tour and taste in a northern coastal town . The Pulteney tour provides a great taste of what it takes to produce whisky and is an ideal way to get acquainted with their historic home. You will experience a behind the scenes tour of their distillery and a dram of Old Pulteney 12-year-old & 2 selected Old Pulteney expressions. We will have lunch with an outdoor whisky tasting somewhere along this historic coast, subject to weather conditions. Tonight enjoy live music in The Eagle Hotel with real ales and more than 50 malt whiskies available, some locally distilled.
Sat 27 Oct. The main event at Dornoch Castle Hotel, your hosts Phil & Simon. A marquee full of whiskies, gins and craft beers from many distilleries, independent bottlers and brewers. Also, local chocolates, savouries, cakes & cheeses to compliment your drams! We provide a ticket to the event, you simply enjoy the event. This evening enjoy a traditional Scottish Ceilidh in the Dornoch Castle Hotel, ticket included. Overnight in The Eagle Hotel.
Sun 28 Oct. After a lie in/ late breakfast, we introduce you to our friend Michael Hanratty, for a Whisky Cocktail Tasting – a range of whisky based cocktails at the Carnegie Whisky Cellars. Then free time to discover more drams, or just relax. Join us for a Sunday Roast at the Eagle with a few drams to accompany lunch before returning to Carnegie with Michael again. for a Blind Whisky Tasting – test your nosing skill & compare single malts and blended whisky. You can purchase whisky from his shop any time during the weekend. Your final night at the Eagle Hotel.
